Week Three

As you can see we have been growing. Rumor has it that next week we will really look a lot
different from this week. We are starting to bark now. It's very cute because some of us really
think we are "tough" with our two and three-in-a-row barks! So we really let those barks loose and
then we topple over from trying so hard. This walking thing is coming along nicely... but we still have
some kinks to work out with it.  They say by next week we should really have some good moves.

Also a few of us have figured out how to start to climb up onto that "pigging rail" they have in the
nursery (whelping) box. So I bet these humans here are going to take that rail out soon.... like we
would really try to escape from the box when they aren't looking!!! Well not quite yet anyways. Then
again...who needs to escape around here. We all get turns snuggling with these people here. LOTS
of snuggle time.... ooooh it's sooooo nice. We get warm baths, and towel dried with pre-warmed
towels.... If you haven't tried that yet... you should. Warm towels are AWESOME!  Each weekend
we get new ribbons since we are growing so quickly.

No teeth yet though... but they are VERY close to coming. Give us a day or two... they'll be here!
Then our Mommy's really going to want a break from us.... once that happens we start getting
introduced to puppy food puree... sounds interestingly messy...and FUN.

All of us have been reserved, not chosen yet though, except for Mr. Orange. Our people here have
really been paying a lot of attention to him. He's always been small since he was probably about a
week premature. (Has something to do with when the fertilization time occurs and he was on the
later end of the time frame so he was actually born early when we were all born at the same time)
Our people knew this so he has always gotten extra TLC, but once we were all eating together, they
noticed he wasn't keeping us like the rest of us CHOW HOUNDS are! So they were bottle feeding
him every two hours and now he has been on an every four hour schedule. He has made a little
progress but he still needs close monitoring and the vet said to keep doing what we are doing, some
little puppies just need lots of extra loving to get going, especially when they start out so early. So
until he has made enough progress- and passes his health check with the vet -his reservation is on
hold. We will keep you all posted.... oh and since he gets all that extra attention... his nick name is
"lil' peanut"

See you very soon!
